How to use a military (AAfes) star card

The Military Star Card is a credit card issued by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). Military Star Card can only be used at AAFES-owned stores, as the Base Exchange (BX), Post Exchange (PX), Navy Exchange (NEX) and Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) stores. Amazing $25 Dell Laptops

There was a piece of news on Air Force Exchange Service website that dell XPS 15 was sold at an amazing price of $25. Dell voided all orders of the laptop, the XPS 15, following its discovery of the mistake, the company announced in a Wednesday post on the AAFES Facebook page. It apologized for the error, which it described as a “mis-offer” resulting from a typo. The computer is being sold at 25 percent discount, the statement said, not for $25.

That didn’t stop upset and confused shoppers from flooding the AAFES Facebook page on Wednesday and Thursday, some of them insisting that Dell honor the mistaken price. Others wanted to know when they would be reimbursed for their purchases, which appeared on debit and credit card accounts. Still others who posted on the site criticized those complaining about the voided orders, while a few poked fun at the situation – one posted a picture of his airman buddies holding Dell boxes, as if they had just arrived.

Many customers can’t forgive the mistake. If you offer something for sale at a certain price then you are legally bound to honor that price. It’s the same as if you find an item mid-priced in the store. They are legally bound to give you the item at the labeled price. AAFES pulled a fast one on this. They pay companies hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to advertise, sell and ship their products. This is one where they should honor the price, take it as a lesson learned and deduct the loss from their profits.

We can find a similar issue back in the summer about an electric stove. The stove should have cost around $1000 but I found it listed for $50. I knowing that could not be right, immediately logged into chat to see if this was correct or a typo. I found out it was a typo. Being the only customer, I probably could have forced them to give it to me at that price but in good conscience, could and would not. As some have stated, you need to use common sense. If AAFES had to do this for every typo on their page, you would close AAFES down permanently. Some of us still think there are good deals with AAFES.

What $25 can get us nowadays? It is never a laptop in the normal situation.
